As some of you may not know, Suzanne takes a weekly trip to NYC to meet with her team of the best jewelers in the industry. I mean, it's NYC and nothing but the best should be expected to come from there. I recently learned that the U.S is the leading country for diamond consumers and 90 percent of diamonds pass through New York, particularly the 47th Street Diamond District.  Starting next week, I will be making weekly trips to New York to not only go behind the scenes and learn first-hand how our jewelry is handcrafted by some of the world’s finest jewelers, but to apprentice Suzanne in this amazing and highly skilled process.

Not to worry, I will be taking notes and snapping photos (follow us on Instagram) while visiting to share my experiences with you all. This blog is meant to be a teaser for what's to come! So if you were ever curious about the jewelry industry, my weekly posts will be for you.

This is especially exciting for me because I always felt that NYC was my second home. I remember being younger and walking through the Diamond District, and wondering how so many jewelry stores remain open with so much competition around. Little did I know that in the back rooms and upper levels behind and above those hundreds of retail stores, the most talented jewelry craftsmen were creating individual works of art for discriminating jewelry designers like us, a far cry from the abundance of factory and production-made jewelry mostly represented below. I guess now it's the time I found out with some hands-on experience what goes on “upstairs”.  Obviously I’ve got a lot to learn, Suzanne has been working with her jewelers for 35 years!  Yikes! But I am looking forward to learning how to work with her team and to be a part of making sure our clients keep getting the best quality jewelry from our company.

I will be keeping you updated with my NYC adventures here, stay tuned!
